When Irish eyes are smiling(part 3)
We were discussing an activity based on the song When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
We were getting to the fun and creative part which is:
First talking about the various heritages of the group members.
Use yourself as an example. I would say : I am Russian. Russia is closer to Ireland than the United States, but there are not many Irish people there. But on St. Patrick’s Day, we all pretend we are Irish but before we do we sing, When Russian Eyes Are Smiling.
Then sing, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling substituting Russian for Irish.
Now ask the group members about their heritage. Supplement their thoughts and ideas about their background if necessary. Of course it is helpful to know about each person in the group.
Then after each person has spoken or you have spoken for them, sing When Irish Eyes Are Smiling substituting whatever nationality they said, for Irish.
