A neat trivia activity with a twist

Table Ball TriviaWe know those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias need mind stimulating activities daily.

We also know that persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias love trivia because they know the answers

The trick is to present the information in a new format that gives each person a chance to participate.

One activity that I like to do is called Table Ball Trivia.

This activity uses trivia question or statements of your choice, a ball of 16 to 20 inches in diameter, and a table big enough to accomodate the number of participants in your group.

This activity can be done one on one as well.

You also may have to put several tables together so that all can fit.

Start with an explanation of the game
Basically, you will roll the ball to a selected participant. Call out his/her name and say the trivia statement leaving off the last word.
You may have to remind the group members that you want the person receiving the ball to answer the question. However if he/she has trouble answering the questions, other participants are there to help.

Why is this activity so successful?

Come back tomorrow for the answer. Also if you have any questions about this activity, please leave them in the comment section
