More great Thanksgiving activities for those with Alzheimer’s disease(part 2)
As you recall, we were discussing what you, the group leader or caregiver, are thankful for
It is an ideal time for you, the activities director, other healthcare professional or family members , to express your love for the residents and to tell them how valuable each and everyone of him/her is to you and the world.
Remember to focus on the positive. Emphasize what each person can still do or still has.
Some things that most people with dementia still have are:
A beautiful smile
Lovely hair
A way of making everyone around them feel good.
Of course knowing about the person’s past can help you here.
Next time another nice Thanksgiving activity
Remember to leave your comments and questions
